Metallurgy & Welding
Technologies Engineer executes, according to safety and cost-effectiveness
criteria, contractual requirements and International Codes and Standards, the
activities relevant to define the prescriptions for testing and fabrication of piping and equipments.
Key Activities &
Responsibilities:
- He/She applies international
codes & standards ASME, API, ASTM, EN, NACE, AWS, ETC., for materials of
construction and related fabrication for chemical, petrochemical, power and oil
& gas industry.
- Provides technical support on
metallurgical issues during design, procurement, testing and fabrication.
Reviews client specifications and prepares engineering and fabrication
specifications based on client requirements and industrial codes and standards.
- Reviews welding and heat
treatments procedures, material specifications, mill test reports, equipment
specifications and data sheets for compliance with project requirements.
- Investigates and resolves issues
on metallurgy, materials, testing and welding arising from clients, suppliers
and contractors either in vendor shops or at site during plant fabrication.
- Coordinates, when necessary, the
specialized laboratory for performing failure analysis on materials and
welding.
Personal Attributes:
- Minimum 5 years in Metallurgical
and Welding Engineering related occupation. Certification IWE/EWE / IWT/EWT are
also appreciated.
- Metallurgical and Welding
background with knowledge of material selection and corrosion mitigation for
piping, equipment, steel structures, etc., for application in petrochemical,
power and oil & gas industry.
- Fluent English speaker and writer.
- Availability to travel for short
and long period in Italy and abroad.
