We are looking for an Home Office Construction Engineer that reports to Home Office Construction Engineering Group Leader.


Key Activities & Responsibilities

  • Provide construction input to the project throughout the engineering phase using construction knowledge and experience;
  • Expertise in Advance Work Packaging, with matured champion responsibilities in field managing supervision group and subcontractors;
  • Assist with aspects of the project construction strategy, execution planning and contracting strategy;
  • Provide input to the assessment and selection of construction contractors;
  • Prepare and review documents for approval to communicate installation sequencing, schedule timings and resource requirements to project management and engineering leads, procurement and the construction site management and supervision;
  • Prepare project specific site procedures and work practices as necessary to meet Client requirements;
  • Provide Construction Engineering in accordance with project requirements and Home Office procedures;
  • Liaise with designers, engineers and Home Office Construction Manager/Coordinator throughout the engineering phase to maximize the use of construction knowledge and experience in all aspects of the project paying particular attention to constructability;
  • Assist with construction feasibility and method studies;
  • Assist project control group in developing realistic schedules for construction activities;
  • Support the Home Office Construction Manager/Coordinator in the development of the contracting philosophy for the project;
  • Prepare and review for approval plans, drawings, specifications, requisitions and bid summaries for all temporary construction facilities required within the Project scope;
  • Assist the Home Office Construction Manager in the development of the project logistic strategy relevant to heavy and out of gage equipment/modules;
  • Develop dedicated lifting/installation studies for heavy and out of gage equipment/modules;
  • Review the project requirements, and the constructability checklist to identify critical execution issues, and assist with the construction execution plan;
  • Provide Home Office clarification on issues raised at site by communication with other involved Home Office departments as necessary;
  • Maintain the necessary records to ensure quality assurance requirements are met;
  • Liaise with field staff on construction engineering matters;
  • Review the standard Quality Control Plan and Inspection and Test Plan and other quality control procedures and incorporate project specific requirements as required.  Prepare, and review for approval the site quality plan and procedures for the project to ensure that requirements are incorporated into the site activities.

  • Experience:  5 or more years experience in a similar role is required
  • Sectors:  Oil and Gas, Power and Energy, Fertilizers, Polymers Industries
  • AWP knowledge is a must
  • Departments:  Construction
  • Education: Civil/Mechanical University Degree
  • Knowledge: Autocad, MS Office
  • Fluent in English language
  • Availability for assignment at site
