Job summary/Role description

The Data scientist manager will devise and drive innovation initiatives across Business Units leading to top and bottom line impact, contribute to the development of data science capabilities and evangelize the use of analytical decision-making leadership in research, development, commercial, manufacturing and support functions. Reporting to Group Performance Improvement function, she/he will mediate between business functions and technical competences (e.g. data scientists, RPA specialists, etc.) during digital initiatives development and deployment. The successful candidate is expected to proactively leverage advanced analytics competences in the company and apply them to industry or company-specific issues.



Duties and responsibilities

The Data Scientist Manager shall:


  • Identifies and explores opportunities for advanced analytics and data science application to company processes for optimization purposes;
  • Manage a team of data scientists, machine learning engineers and big data specialists;
  • Ensure data quality and integrity;
  • Proactively participates in digital initiatives’ framing and solution requisites definition, especially when business and data scientists are involved at the same time;
  • Makes sure digital initiative’s development and deployment is compliant with business needs;
  • Facilitates fine-tuning activities during adoption and maintenance phase;
  • Align data projects with organizational goals;
  • Identify learning needs for analyst teams and plan for training implementation.



Knowledge & Qualifications

  • PhD or Masters’ Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics;
  • Strong interest for Advanced Analytics, Computer science or Machine Learning.


  • At least 10 years of previous relevant experience in Data Science, Project Management, machine learning, predictive modelling, computer science and optimization;
  • Good knowledge of programming languages and statistic modelling.

  • Data-driven and analytic attitude;
  • Mandatory fluency in English;
  • Fluency in Italian preferred.
