The Design HSE Engineer ensures that plant engineering design follows the most appropriate HSE standards in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, good engineering practice as well as with contractual obligation and project schedule.


  • Participate to the definition of a project Design HSE Plan. Management, supervision and/or participation to the HSE activities identified such as: HSE Design Review, HAZID/ENVID HAZOP, SIL Classification, QRA, HSEIA, RAM etc.;
  • Supervision and/or selection of appropriate design in order to fulfill contractual requirement as well as applicable HSE norms and standards;
  • Participation to design and procurement activities (eventually coordinating external resources) of safety systems such as : active and passive fire protection, fire & gas detection, etc.;
  • Provide support to other technical departments for what concern HSE topics such as: noise, emissions, occupational safety, ATEX, PED, Machinery EU directives.

Personal Attributes:

  • Engineering degree in Chemical, Environmental, Safety Engineering or equivalent;
  • At least 4 years experience in a similar position preferably in an engineering company;
  • Knowledge of Risk Analysis techniques (HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, QRA);
  • Knowledge of main HSE national and international Norms and Standards;
  • Good English, team working and communication skills;
  • Available to short/medium length travel in Italy or abroad.
